ABOUT THE INNKEEPER

The Sleepy Senator® is owned and operated by Robert Noel Clarkson.
In 2016 He suffered a case of bacterial pneumonia that had been misdiagnosed and destroyed both of his lungs, and after seeking an alternative diagnosis discovered he needed a lung transplant to survive. The surgery left him with 37% capacity and PTSD from the 2 year ordeal. So he now has to hire out much of the labor required by the Vacation rental. Today he lives, along with his Standard Poodle, in his family's old historic Victorian House, located a few doors down the block from the Sleepy Senator®. He enjoys sitting home watching classic movies on DVD, taking photographs, playing guitar, cooking, shopping in antique stores for the Sleepy Senator®, reading, and browsing in book shops.

A life-long Helena resident and former city "Last Chancer" Historic Tour Guide. He first opened the townhouse as a Bed and Breakfast - Vacation Rental Guest House in the summer of 2003. after completely remodeling and upgrading the townhouse portion of the historic neighborhood grocery building he had owned since 1974. Before opening the Sleepy Senator®, Clarkson completed a two year study in the hospitality and inn management program offered by the Professional Association of Innkeepers International.

In addition to being an inn-keeper Clarkson had been a magic illusion show entertainer widely recognized among his peers world-wide and he is a member in the AMA Hollywood; He is an internationally published professional magazine writer and accomplished studio portrait photographer; and he had served 15 years as an officer in the U.S. Army and Air Force Military Reserve Forces.
